Description. Female. Fore wing 6.5–9.2 mm, body 9.0– 14.4 mm, ovipositor sheath 1.4–2.0 mm long.
Colour. Black. Scape and pedicel from below, palpi, tegula, fore and mid coxae and trochanters and apical margin of tergites 3–7 narrowly (3–4 tergites only laterally) yellowish ( Figs 1, 2 View FIGURES 1–7 ). Legs red, hind femur apically, hind tibia apically and hind tarsal segments darkened, hind tibia yellowish in base.
Head. Head distinctly narrowed behind. Face smooth, rarely punctured, the distance between punctures longer than their diameter; clypeus with more rare punctures. Inner orbits strongly convergent down ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1–7 ), with weak excavation near antennal socket. Face and clypeus pubescent, hairs length as long as flagellum diameter. Clypeus with thin apical ridge. Mandible weakly twisted with two teeth, upper tooth distinctly longer than lower tooth. Malar space 0.15 × as long as basal width of mandible. Frons shiny without punctures, moderately concave in lower 2/3 ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1–7 ). Ocelli large, diameter 1.1 × as long as distance between lateral ocellus and eye. Occipital carina strong, lamelliform, connected with hypostomal carina far from base of mandible. Antenna with 30 elongate flagellomeres; first flagellomere 5.0 × as long as wide.
Mesosoma . Pronotum smooth with strong epomia ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 1–7 ), punctured in front part and near upper lateral margin. Mesoscutum three lobed, with long and deep notauli ( Fig. 2 View FIGURES 1–7 ). Lateral margin of mesoscutum behind tegula strongly widened, lamelliform. Scutellum moderately and evenly convex ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1–7 ), carinate to the middle. Mesopleuron with a swelling below subtegular ridge ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 1–7 ). Epicnemal carina ended near middle of mesopleuron far from its front ridge. Mesosoma smooth, pubescent and punctate except speculum and front lower part of metapleuron. Propodeum without apical transverse carina. Lateral longitudinal carina developed in apical part of propodeum. Pleural carina strong. Propodeal spiracle elliptic, separated from pleural carina by its diameter length. Submetapleural carina strong, angulate curved on the middle. Second recurrent vein (2m-cu) in fore wing with two bullae ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 1–7 ). Nervulus interstitial, parallel vein joint postnervulus slightly below its middle. Hind wing with six distal hamuli. Nervellus strongly reclival, intercepted in upper third. Legs stout, hind femur 3.8 × as long as wide. Correlation between lengths of hind tarsal segments are 36:15:9:6:19.
Metasoma. Metasomal tergites slender ( Figs 1, 2 View FIGURES 1–7 ), first tergite 2.1 × as long as wide. Median dorsal carina bypass middle of tergite. Lateral carina reaching apical margin of first tergite, not touching spiracle. Second tergite 1.5 × as long as wide apically. Ovipositor sheath 0.6 × as long as hind tibia.
Male. Antenna with 24–27 flagellomeres; yellow coloration more abundant; fore and mid legs yellow except tarsal segments and hind coxa and trochanters.
Etymology. The name comes from strongly convergent down inner orbits.
Distribution. South Korea.
Remarks. It is similar to Brachyzapus tenuiabdominalis (Uchida) , but distinguished from the by more strongly convergent down inner orbits ( Fig. 3 View FIGURES 1–7 ); malar space shorter; strongly reclival and intercepted in the upper third nervellus; moderately convex scutellum and coloration of the body.
