Material examined. N Vietnam: Moc Chau, Truong Yen, 950 m, 30.iv.1995, A. Saito lgt., 1 female; Hoang Lien Son distr., Sa Pa, 1600 m, 11.–16.v.1990, J. Horák lgt., 1 female, determined by Kazantsev as Athemus nigrolineatus Pic (cited by Kazantsev 1999) (all NHMB); NE Laos, Houa Phan prov., Ban Saluei, Mt. Phou Pane, 20°12– 13.5ˏN 103°59.5ˏ–104°01ˏE, 1340–2000 m, 28.iv.–11.v.2001, J. Bezdĕk lgt, 1 female; same locality but 15.iv.– 15.v.2008, Lao collectors lgt., 3 males 4 females (all NMPC); same locality but 10.–30.v.2009, M. Brancucci lgt., 1 female ( NHMB).

Distribution. Northern Vietnam ( Kazantsev 1999). New for the fauna of Laos.

Comments. L. nigrolineatus and following three newly described species can be characterized as follows: basal portion of head more or less largely yellow to brown, pronotum with narrow, mediolongitudinal dark spot, antennomeres more or less widened in both sexes. Last abdominal sternite is very similar in all species, as in Fig. 70 ( L. marginalis ); it cannot be used for differentiation of the species.

Lycocerus karenensis Champion, 1926 and Lycocerus cordieri Pic, 1915 also posess at least partly yellow head and narrow mediolongitudinal spot on pronotum, but their antennae are filiform in both sexes; the pronotal spot is absent in Lycocerus rufocapitatus Kazantsev, 1999 .
