Comments: The various subspecies of P. albipennis (P. a. albipennis , P. a. canadensis , and P. a. heliophila) require taxonomic work to determine whether they represent valid taxa. What was formerly P. albipennis pallidipennis is a senior synonym of what was formerly commonly known as P. bequaerti (see below). Adding to the confusion, Minnesota specimens of P. albipenni s key out to P. a. pallidipennis in Mitchell (1960). Perdita albipennis [as P. lacteipennis lacteipennis and P. lacteipennis canadensis ] keys out correctly in Timberlake (1954). The subgenus Cockerellia is in need of a broader revision.
