Range: — Peru, Bolivia (LP).

Ecology: —Uncommon in ridge top vegetation and open spots in elfin forests with daily mists, relatively rare; 2580–3000 m.

Notes: —Easily recognized in the field by the protruding trunk apex covered in grayish scales.
