Genus Eutolmus Loew, 1848 View in CoL View at ENA
Eutolmus Loew, 1848 Loew (1848: 459) View in CoL .
Type species: Asilus rufibarbis Meigen, 1820 Meigen (1820: 311) .
The males acutely excised and setose sternite 8, and the females cercus embedded into tergite 9 (similar characters of Dysmachus ) clearly separates this genus from other South Korean Asilinae genera. The acrostichal hair on the anterior scutum is short and sparse. The two species are very similar, but spines on the fore tibia of E. brevistlyus easily distinguish them. The external features of the genitalia in both species are almost identical. However, the shape of the male gonostylus and leg coloration differ.
