Lampanyctus parvicauda Parr, 1931 View in CoL .

To 11.2 cm (4.4 in) SL (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California). Central Baja California to Chile ( Wisner 1976). Larvae reported as far north as the Ensenada area, northern Baja California ( Funes-Rodríquez et al. 2011). Depth: surface to mesopelagic ( Wisner 1976); depth: 9–342 m (30–1,122 ft) ( Castellanos-Galindo et al. 2006b). Several deeper records (e.g., 1,370 m (4,494 ft) ( Morera et al. 2019) and 2,325 m (7,626 ft) (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California)) were based on the maximum depth fished by a midwater and bottom trawls and may represent catches shallower than those maximum depths.
