Oxyporhamphus micropterus (Valenciennes, 1847) .

Smallwing Flyingfish. To 22 cm (8.7 in) TL ( Robertson and Allen 2002). Circumglobal; western Pacific Ocean north to Japan (Aizawa in Nakabo 2002); central Baja California (28°10’N, 115°54’W) (Personal communication:Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) to Gulf of California ( Robertson and Allen 2008) to northern Peru ( Chirichigno and Vélez 1998), including Gulf of California (Collette in Fischer et al. 1995) and Islas Galápagos ( Allen and Robertson 1994). Epipelagic; depth: surface to 6 m (20 ft) (min.: Watson in Moser 1996; max.: Fricke et al. 2019).
