Velvetnose Brotula . 22.6 cm ( 8.9 in) TL ( Robertson and Allen 2015). Southern tip of Baja California, Gulf of California to Peru, Islas Galápagos and some other offshore islands ( Robertson and Allen 2008). Depth: 3 to at least 18 m ( 10–60 ft) (min.: Robertson and Allen 2008; max.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California).
