Threadfin Shad. To 33 cm (13 in) TL ( Moyle 2002). Native to the southeastern United States and south to Belize. Introduced to West Coast. Off Oregon ( Eschmeyer and Herald 1983) to San Diego Bay, southern California (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) and Gulf of California (Whitehead and Rodríguez-Sánchez in Fischer et al. 1995). Shallow fresh, brackish, and marine waters.
