Western Pacific Ocean off Japan and southern Kuril Islands ( Orlov and Tokranov 2019); British Columbia, 48°41’N, 126°29’W ( Milkova et al. 2016) to off Point Conception, California ( Berry and Perkins 1966). Depth: surface to 1,514 m (198–4,966 ft) (min.: Gillespie and Saunders 1994; max.: Shinohara et al. 2009).
