King Angelfish. To about 36 cm (14.2 in) TL ( Robertson and Allen 2008). Isla Guadalupe, central Baja California (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) and Bahía Magdalena, southern Baja California (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California) to Gulf of California (Krupp and Schneider in Fischer et al. 1995) to Talara, Peru ( Chirichigno 1974), and Islas Galápagos ( Grove and Lavenberg 1997). Depth: 1–80 m (3–262 ft) or more (min.: Robertson and Allen 2002; max.: Allen and Robertson 1994).
