Blue Bobo. To 40 cm ( 15.7 in) TL ( Amezcua Linares 1996). Monterey Bay, central California ( Follett 1948) to Chile ( Pequeño 1989), including Gulf of California (Schneider in Fischer et al. 1995), and Islas Galápagos ( Miller and Lea 1972). Inshore ( Miller and Lea 1972); depth: 0–107 m ( 351 ft) (min.: Robertson and Allen 2002; max.: Amezcua Linares 1996). In marine, brackish and fresh waters ( Velasco and Thiel 2002, Argulo et al. 2020).
