Black Jack. To 99 cm (39 in) TL ( Grove and Lavenberg 1997). Circumglobal; western Pacific Ocean north to southern Japan (Senou in Nakabo 2002); southern Baja California (Smith-Vaniz in Fischer et al. 1995) to Chile ( Pequeño 1989), including lower Gulf of California (Smith-Vaniz in Fischer et al. 1995) and Islas Galápagos ( Grove and Lavenberg 1997).
