Diagnosis. Rather small species, with a very short stigma at the end of r1. Eyes separated. Antenna yellowish brown, third segment slightly deeper than long, with blunt apex. Legs and coxae yellow.
Material examined. Type material: Thailand: Trang province, Pak Meng, acidic swamp forest, 25 October 1979, male and six males, one female (No. 97120 leg. P. Grootaert); Phang-Nga province , Thap Put, primary rainforest, 23 October 1979, two males (No. 97107, leg. P. Grootaert) .
Male
Body length 1.2–1.45 mm; wing length 1.2–1.3 mm.
Head. Frons and face with greenish black ground colour. Face rather narrow, about half as wide as depth of third antennal segment. Palpi small, brown, each with a small, black apical bristlet. Rostrum brownish yellow. Occiput greenish black. Chaetotaxy as usual; no postocellars. Postoculars uniseriate, black. Antenna (figure 213): yellowish brown; third segment somewhat lighter coloured. Second segment with very short marginal bristlets. Third segment rounded triangular, with blunt apex, slightly deeper than long. Arista very shortly pubescent, nearly three times as long as antenna; basal aristal segment longer than third antennal segment.
Thorax. Thorax and scutellum shining dark metallic green; pleurae on sclerotized parts dark brown with greenish gloss, unsclerotized parts yellowish brown. Chaetotaxy as usual; acr uniseriate, relatively long; one very short, thin propleural bristlet.
Legs. Legs and coxae yellow. All tarsi very feebly browned.
Fore leg. Coxa anteriorly with a row of short hairs that become bristlelike near apex of coxa. Femur without bristles. Tibia shorter than femur, without bristles or serration. Length of tibia and tarsal segments (in mm): 0.35: 0.14:0.07:0.05: 0.05:0.06.
Mid leg. Coxa anteriorly and exteriorly near tip with short hairs. Femur without bristles, apart from a weak preapical anterior bristle. Tibia about as long as femur; two ad, one pd; anteroventrally a row of short bristly hairs. Length of tibia and tarsal segments (in mm): 0.49:0.2: 0.09: 0.07:0.06: 0.07.
Hind leg (figure 214). Coxa without exterior bristle(!?). Femur without bristles; only three or four slightly lengthened hairs near tip. Tibia about as long as femur; three rather weak dorsal bristles; no ventral bristles. Length of tibia and tarsal segments (in mm): 0.5:0.1: 0.12:0.1: 0.07: 0.07.
Wing. Wing (figure 215) slightly brownish tinged. A very short, brownish stigma at the end of r1 (figure 216). r4+5 and m1+2 slightly diverging. Length ratio of basal and apical parts of m1+2 about 1:3. Halters yellow. Squamae yellow with black border, and black cilia.
Abdomen. Abdomen dorsally glossy dark brown, becoming lighter coloured to the rear; sterna dark brown. Hairs and hind-marginal bristlets on terga very short. Hypopygium (figure 217) brownish yellow.
