Type material. Holotype ( NMP): 1 male, “ Sarawak, Kapit dist. Sebong, Baleh riv. 9.- 21. 3. 1994 Sv. Bílý leg.”, genitalia on slide no. HY 1041.

Description. Male. Body oblong, slightly convex above, strongly shining, covered with short fine setae throughout. Coloration of body light brown; antennomeres 4–11 and caudal 1/2 of elytra, with the exception of the apical parts infuscate.

Head moderate in size, almost flat in dorsal aspect, finely punctate; clypeus expanded laterally, shallowly concave in front margin. Eyes rather large, prominent; the distance between the eyes ca. 1.8 times as long as the maximum diameter of the eye. Antennae slender. Pronotum slightly convex above in the mesal part of the disk, closely and strongly punctate; antero-lateral angles ca. 120º, slightly projecting anteriorly; front margin gently arcuate; lateral margins almost straight; postero-lateral angles right-angled; posterior margin slightly bisinuate; PW/PL 2.20. Scutellum moderate in size, finely punctate, equilateral-triangular. Elytra oblong-oval, widest at the middle, closely punctate; humeri slightly elevated; EL/EW 1.29; EL/PL 4.15; EW/PW 1.47; TL/ EW 1.60. Legs relatively long. Hind tibial spurs relatively short, slightly curved laterally; dorsal spurs ca. 1.9 times as long as ventral ones, ca. 0.8 times as long as hind tarsomere 1. Caudal margin of sternite VII deeply concave. Tergite VIII lightly sclerotized, trapezoidal, bearing short spines on posterior margin; tergite IX almost membranous, with a pair of long apodemes; sternite IX lightly sclerotized, semicircular, deeply concave in posterior margin, closely covered with short setae in posterior portion. Tegmen short, well sclerotized; basal part trapezoidal, anterior margin almost straight; parameres short, consisting of a pair of claw-like projections which have small denticles in the basal portion, curved interiorly. Penis long, well sclerotized; pala oblong; parameroid rod-like, obtuse at apex, apical portion covered with minute punctures.

Female. Unknown.

Measurements. Male (n =1): TL 3.35 mm; PW 1.43 mm; PL 0.65 mm; EL 2.70 mm; EW 2.10 mm.

Distribution. Borneo Isl. ( Sarawak).

Etymology. The species is named after the Baleh river.

Notes. Belongs to a group of species with uniformly brown elytra. Similar to Scirtes maramagensis Klausnitzer , differs in details of aedeagal morphology: tegmen distinctly shorter than penis; parameres short, claw-like; pala oblong; parameroids long, rod-like, obtuse at apex.
