Type material. Holotype ( EUM): 1 male, “ Ph. Pan (Mt.) Houaphan Prov. LAOS 4. V. 2002 H. Yoshitomi leg.” . Paratypes ( NMB): 7 males & 6 females, “Lao-NE, Hua Phan pr., 20°12’N, 104°01’E, Phu Phan Mt., 1500-1900m, 17.v.-3.vi.2007, Vit. Kubáň leg.” ; 1 female, same data as above, leg. M. Brancucci ; 1 male ( EUM), “[ LAOS] Mt. Phou Pan Ban Saleui , Xam Neua Houa Phan Prov. 27. IV. - 11. V. 2007 J. Yamasako leg.” .

Description. Male. Body oblong-oval, slightly convex above, shining, closely covered with yellowishwhite short setae throughout. Coloration of head, legs, ventral parts of meso- and metathorax and abdomens reddish-brown; antennae black, except antennomeres 1–3, which are brown; pronotum and scutellum yellowish-orange, infuscate in mesal part; elytra black, with yellowish-orange stripes in humeral portions to apices and surrounding parts of sutures, these stripes connected towards apex.

Head moderate size, dorsal surface almost, finely punctate; clypeus long, front margin shallowly concave. Eyes moderate in size, prominent; the distance between the eyes ca. 2.4 times as long as the maximum diameter of an eye. Antennae relatively stout, reaching ca. proximal 1/4 of elytra. Pronotum slightly convex above in mesal part of the disk, punctured as on head; antero- and postero-lateral angles obtuse, slightly projecting anteriorly in antero-lateral angles; front margin almost straight; lateral and posterior margins gently arcuate; PW/PL 2.10–2.32 (2.21). Scutellum moderate in size, punctured as on pronotum, equilateral-triangular. Elytra oblong, subparallel-sided near base to apices, closely punctate; shoulder parts weakly elevated; EL/EW 1.40– 1.51 (1.47); EL/PL 4.35–4.87 (4.61); EW/PW 1.38–1.48 (1.42); TL/EW 1.73–1.84 (1.79). Legs relatively long. Hind tibial spurs long, closely covered with minute spines; dorsal spurs almost straight, then curved laterally in apical parts, ca. 2.0 times as long as ventral ones, ca. 0.6 times as long as hind tarsomere 1; ventral spurs evenly curved laterally. Caudal margin of sternite VII shallowly concave. Tegmen and penis connected; basal part of tegmen oval; parameres short, curved laterally, pointed at apices; penis long, pointed at apex, gently expanded before apex, curved dorsally in apical part.

Female. Dorsum black with yellowish scutellum and pronotal margins. Elytra with shallow oblique concavities in apical part. Sternite VII with a pair of foveae. Ratios: PW/PL 2.27–2.68 (2.45); EL/EW 1.37–1.60 (1.46); EL/PL 4.30–5.31 (4.87); EW/PW 1.28–1.44 (1.36); TL/EW 1.63–1.91 (1.76).

Measurements. Male (n = 7): TL 4.40–5.63 (5.22) mm; PW 1.70–2.25 (2.06) mm; PL 0.75–1.00 (0.93) mm; EL 3.65–4.65 (4.29) mm; EW 2.45–3.15 (2.91) mm. Female (n = 7): TL 4.30–5.95 (5.33) mm; PW 1.75– 2.50 (2.23) mm; PL 0.70–1.10 (0.91) mm; EL 3.60–4.85 (4.41) mm; EW 2.25–3.45 (3.04) mm

Distribution. N Laos.

Etymology. This species is named after Dr. Tatsuya Niisato.

Notes. Male is externally indistinguishable from Scirtes chiangmaiensis sp. n. It can be easily identified, however, on the basis of morphology of male genitalia: penis is much longer than parameres. Female very similar to the one of Scirtes laosensis sp. n., but differs in having pronotal margins lightened, yellowish, and yellow scutellum.
