Lectotype (Schutte & Van Wyk in Taxon 42: 47. 1993): [icon] " Genista, Africana , tomentosa, folio cochleariformi, flore luteo" in Seba, Locupl. Rer. Nat. Thes. 1: 38, t. 24, f. 1. 1734.

Current name: Priestleya tomentosa (L.) Druce View in CoL ( Fabaceae : Faboideae ).

Note: An illegitimate renaming of Borbonia tomentosa L. (1753) in Liparia , as noted by Schutte & Van Wyk.
