Subgenus Metatrichocera Dahl, 1966

Diagnosis of subgenus Metatrichocera remains an object of discussions, but following Krzemińska (2002a), the main features are balloon like gonocoxites; gonostyles distinctly different from gonocoxites and adorned with armature; parameres in most species thin, especially in distal portion, lateral apodemes strongly elongated and narrow, more than three times longer than wide.
