Description. Female. (Holotype). Fore wing 6.7 mm. Mandible with upper tooth longer than the lower, clypeus strongly convex, malar space 0.7 × greater than the basal length of the mandible ( Figs 85–87 View FIGURES 85–90 ); pronotum with epomia with a raised crest; mesoscutellum with striate centrally, lobe medium punctate, lateral lobes with some punctures in anterior part, notaulus weakly punctate ( Figs 85–86 View FIGURES 85–90 ); mesopleuron punctate in the lower part, central area striate only to medial level; sternaulus strongly punctate ( Figs 85–86 View FIGURES 85–90 ); metapleuron with upper part punctate and pubescent, pleural carina weakly and incomplete, submetapleural a carina pronounced ( Fig. 86 View FIGURES 85–90 ); scutellum smooth and polished with con carina lateral longitudinal carina strongly elevated ( Figs 88–89 View FIGURES 85–90 ); propodeum completely coriaceous without any trace of propodeal carina ( Fig. 89 View FIGURES 85–90 ); hind tibia with a sharp spine, hind tarsal claw curved and pectinate; first segment of metasoma narrow that widens posteriorly, other tergites entirely pubescent; ovipositor straight 1.1 × longer than hind tibia, with an apical notch; ovipositor sheaths pubescent; fore wing with vein 3 rs -m present, with vein 1 m -cu located below the upper end of the vein 3 rs-m, vein 1 m -cu joining to 2 rs -m close to Rs +2 r, distal abscissa of vein M complete; vein cu -a ending at the base of the vein Rs & M ( Fig. 90 View FIGURES 85–90 ); hind wing with four hamuli.

Coloration. Head yellow with interocellar area with a black mark; mesosoma yellow with black marks, mesoscutellum with two yellow marks in the anterior part of notaulus; scutellum yellow; mesopleuron with two yellow marks and a diagonal black stripe; metapleuron yellow with a black mark in the anterior part; propodeum yellow with a wide central black mark and lateral marks; fore leg yellow; hind legs brown darkened; fore wings completely hyaline, pterostigma black.

Male. Unknown.

Type material. HOLOTYPE ♀. COLOMBIA, Caquetá: Florencia, Vereda San Francisco San Pacho, finca El Recreo , 01°42’24”N, 75°36’36” W, 643 m, 04-18.I.2017, trampa Malaise en cultivo de caña ( Saccharum officinarum ), Y. Ramos-Pastrana (1♀, LEUA –53647). GoogleMaps

New World geographical distribution. Colombia (Caquetá *). ( Fig. 91 View FIGURE 91 ).

Etymology. Of Latin ‘sine’ (= without), ‘carenatum’ (= carinae), the name refers to the propodeum devoid of carinae.

Habitat. The specimen was collected with Malaise-type flight interception traps at ground level in sugarcane ( Saccharum officinarum ) cultivation. The vegetation of the collection site corresponds to forests of the Andean-Amazonian foothills.

Hosts. Unknown.

Taxonomic notes. Eiphosoma sinecarenatum sp. nov. belongs to the Eiphosoma vitticolle species-group. Among the species that make up this group, the closest species is Eiphosoma laphygmae that presents smooth and polished propodeum, with anterior and present transverse carina; yellow mesoscutellum, completely punctate with two lateral black stripes and a central one that extends from the anterior part to the base of the scutellum; however, E. sinecarenatum sp. nov., has striate propodeum with absence of anterior and posterior transverse carina; mesoscutellum mostly black with two small yellow marks on the front of the notaulus, centrally punctate, lateral lobes weakly punctate on front.
