Distribution. Atlantic Ocean: Bay of Biscay to Canary Islands and W-africa. Pacific Sea from Bering Sea to Japan and Galápagos Archipiélago. Indian Ocean (Arabia). Northwestern Mediterranean.

Depth range. 1310–5100 m.

Habitat. Bathypelagic.

Iberian Seas published records. Off Galician and Asturias coasts ( Lagardère 1983, 1985). Off Portugal (cap Saint Vincent: Nouvel 1943). Offshore species related to the Canary Archipelago ( Nouvel 1943, Wittmann & Wirtz, 1998 Haroun & Garrido 2003, Wittmann & Riera 2012) . Madeira ( Nouvel 1943). Off the coast of Morocco ( Nouvel 1943).
