Type material. ♁. Ceph. Th. long. 5mm; lat, 4mm. Ecuador mérid.: Amazula. Examined. Label 1. MNHN Paris AR 4247 Bolostromus gaujoni Simon, 1889 , Equateur: Loja. Label 2. Holotype Indicatti R.P. det. 2007, collection Simon no 9772.

Type designation. One male lectotype, one juvenile paralectotype designated here [AR4247].

Diagnosis. Males of B. gaujoni most resemble B. fauna and B. riveti but are distinguished by one retrolateral apical tibial spine and large metatarsal tubercle ( Fig. 34A View FIGURE 34 , arrow), absent in the latter two species ( Figs 15C View FIGURE 15 , 20A View FIGURE 20 ).

Distribution. Only found at the type locality in Loja Province, Ecuador.

Note. The jar contained a holotype designation label written by Indicatti R. P. in 2007, but we were unable to find in the literature a formal type designation .
