DISTRIBUTION: South Africa; Namibia; Mozambique; Zimbabwe; Zambia; Malawi; Angola; S. Zaire.

COMMENT: Includes rupicola; see Misonne, 1974, Part 6:36, who also included angolensis in this species, but Genest-Villard, 1978, Mammalia, 42:404, transferred angolensis to murinus .

ISIS NUMBER: 5301410012007013001 as G. platyops .
