Global distribution: NT, PA.

Argentinian distribution: Buenos Aires, Chaco, Córdoba, Corrientes, Formosa, Jujuy, La Pampa, Mendoza, Río Negro, Santa Fe.

Ecology: This species was found in streams and temporary vegetated ponds, in warm (18 ºC) and neutralalkaline waters (pH: 7. 44 to 8.46), with electrical conductivity values ranging from 60 to 926 μS/cm and salinity between 0.7–1.42 g /l. This species is considered an indicator of low levels of anthropogenic influences.
