Global distribution: NT.

Argentinian distribution: Buenos Aires.

Ecology: The species was recorded from freshwater lakes with abundant floating plants. This species tolerates a wide temperature range (12.0–30.6 °C), acidic to neutral waters (pH: 5.6–7.1), electrical conductivity ranging from 371 to 903 μS/cm, and dissolved oxygen values between 4.9 and 8.5 mg /l.
