The male gonopore is coxal. The thoracic sternum and sterno-abdominal cavity are so narrow that the gonopore is very close to the G1. The penis is relatively short in species of Cancer (see Duvernoy 1853: 151, pls. 3/4, fig. 14), a little more developed in Romaleon Gistel, 1848 , and Platepistoma Rathbun, 1906 .
