In Canada, this rarely seen eucnemid species has been recorded in Ontario. In the United States , E. americana have been found in California, Illinois, Indiana, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington, Wisconsin ( Muona 2000) and taken for the first time in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Ohio.
