Diphytaxis excavata Horn 1890

This eucnemid species was previously known from Belize, Cuba, Guatemala and Mexico. In the United States, D. excavata were found in Arkansas, Texas ( Muona 2000; Otto 2011b) and taken for the first time in Missouri. Two specimens were taken from Lindgren funnel traps. MISSOURI: Callaway County: 2.1 km NNW Fulton, 11–25 August 2016, B. Deschu (CMNH), Cole County: 4.9 km SW Jefferson City, 30 June–12 July 2016, B. Deschu (GERP).
