Occurs widely in South America and the Caribbean (including the Lesser Antilles); polyphagous, feeding on plants belonging to 5 families; a pest of tropical fruit including banana, citrus, guava, mango, and soursop.
Collection data. Intercepted in UK (London) on Annona muricata , 15.vii.2013, leg. D. Dennis (abundant, eggs attacked by the larvae of Diadiplosis ? coccidivora (Felt) ( Diptera : Cecidomyiidae ), det. Keith Harris) , and 14.iv.2014, leg. R. Waghorn .
