Occurs widely in tropical and subtropical areas of the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Pacific; broadly polyphagous, being recorded on plants belonging to 37 families; a pest of Citrus. Recorded from Saint Lucia by Schotman (1989) and Malumphy (2012).
