Cercosaura sp. 1
Taxonomic remarks. Cercosaura sp. 1 differs from other Cercosaura species in some aspects of scutellation and color pattern. It is under study as part of the revision of the genus Cercosaura .
Distribution and habitat. Cercosaura sp. 1 is endemic to southern Brazilian Amazonia , where it occurs between the Curuá/Iriri and Purus rivers ( Fig. 10 View FIGURE 10 ). It is known from the states of Pará, Amazonas, Rondônia, and Mato Grosso. Cercosaura sp. 1 is terrestrial and diurnal, inhabits primary and secondary terra firme forests, and disturbed areas near forest edges, where it is mainly found on the ground (Macedo et al. 2008—referred to as C. ocellata bassleri ; MPEG data).
