Gonatopus clavipes ( Thunberg, 1827: 202) . Type locality: Sweden, Uppland , Uppsala (♀ holotype, ZMU). Description (♀). Apterous ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 ), length 2.2–3.7 mm. Color. Color very variable. Head black, except yellow mandible, clypeus and anterior region frons; gena testaceous; antenna black, except yellow scape and pedicel and occasionally part of flagellomere 1; mesosoma black, except testaceous distal apex metapectal-propodeal complex; metasoma black, with reddish nuances; legs yellow-reddish, except brownish clubs femora. Head ( Figs 8 View FIGURE 8 A–8 C, 9). Antenna clavate, antennomeres in following proportions: 7.5:5:13:6:6:6:5:4.5:5:7; head excavated, shiny or dull, alutaceous or granulate; frontal line complete; occipital carina absent; POL = 2, OL = 2.5, OOL = 7; palpal formula 5/2. Mesosoma ( Figs 1C View FIGURE 1 , 8 View FIGURE 8 D–8 F, 9). Pronotum shiny or dull, setose or unsetose, granulate, crossed by strong transverse furrow; mesoscutum granulate, sculptured by some longitudinal keels, without lateral pointed apophyses; metanotum transversely striate, slightly or deeply hollow behind mesoscutellum; mesopleuron and metapleuron transversely striate; metapectal-propodeal complex dull or shiny, with anterior surface unsculptured or granulate and posterior surface transversely striate; disc metapectal-propodeal complex with or without deep median longitudinal furrow; meso-metapleural suture distinct and complete; protarsomeres in following proportions: 12:2:4:14:21; enlarged claw with one small subapical tooth and few peg-like setae or bristles; protarsomere 5 with inner margin proximally not serrated (occasionally serrated) and with 1–2 rows of 11–23 lamellae beginning in proximal third of fifth segment (if with two rows, second row situated in proximal half protarsomere 5); distal apex with 7–17 lamellae; tibial spurs 1/0/1 .

Description (♂). Fully winged; length 1.7–2.7 mm. Color. Head black, except testaceous mandible; antenna brown-black; mesosoma and metasoma black; legs yellow-brown, except coxae darkened. Head. Antenna filiform; antennomeres in following proportions: 4:4:6:5.5:5.5:5:5:5:5.5:8, antennomere 3 less than 3.5 times as long as wide (3.2); head dull, setose, granulate, with short irregular keels on frons and vertex; frontal line absent; occipital carina absent; vertex with two smooth (or rugose) ovoidal areas situated between lateral ocelli and eyes and anteriorly not bordered by high carina; temple distinct; POL = 6; OL = 3; OOL = 4; palpal formula 5/2. Mesosoma . Mesoscutum dull, granulate; mesoscutellum dull, granulate; metanotum shiny, unsculptured or granulate; metapectal-propodeal complex dull, reticulate rugose, with or without longitudinal median furrow on dorsal surface; forewing hyaline, without dark transverse bands; distal part (Rs) 2r-rs&Rs vein (= stigmal vein) longer than proximal part (2r-rs) (12:7); tibial spurs 1/1/2. Genitalia ( Fig. 20C View FIGURE 20 ). Dorsal process of paramere short and transverse.
