GRAMMIA DORIS MINEA (SLOSSON) ( FIGS 2 View Figure 2 –4C)

Diagnosis: Distinguished from nominal G. doris by the slightly smaller size (mean forewing length = 19 mm), thinner forewing pale bands, and larger hindwing spots.

Biology: Adult collection dates indicate a single annual generation, with the flight peak between late May and mid June. As discussed under G. doris , the habitat preference of G. d. minea is not clear, but may include wetlands.

Distribution: Southern BC east to NF and NB; because of the paucity of specimens, the southern extent of ssp. minea , and relationship to ssp. doris , is unclear.
