Published records: “Abda Wadi Nefkh” [Avdat], “Ein Fashka-Wadi Dara” [Ein Feshkha], “Kurnub (Negev)”, “Revivim”, “Wadi Umm Salib (Negev)” (Zapparoli 1995).

New records: Yerucham (1 specimen 1963).

Distribution in Israel: the records are all from arid rocky environments, with average annual temperatures between 18–24˚C and annual precipitations between 100–150 mm ( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 D)

Global distribution: it has been recorded from Mediterranean Africa and the Middle East, but the actual range is unclear.

Taxonomic and nomenclatural notes. The species-level taxonomy of the genus Polyporogaster Verhoeff, 1899 needs revision and therefore the identification of the specimens could require reassessment.
