Material. 3 specimens (3 C).

Description. Large elongated and well rounded carapace, sub-oval in lateral view and slender anteriorly. Overlap of the larger LV over the RV on the whole outline, pronounced ventrally and antero-dorsally, otherwise slight. Hmax at 2/5 posterior; Lmax at 1/4 ventral; Wmax at about 1/3 posterior. Well rounded dorsal margin, regularly convex in posterior part, more oblique from mid-length towards anterior and forming an angle of about 150° with the anterior margin. Almost straight ventral margin, slightly concave in the median part. Convex and highly arched anterior margin. Well rounded posterior margin, more arched ventrally. Posterior part higher than the anterior one. Surface smooth.

Discussion. The morphology (size, proportions, outline, overlap) is very close to C. brassicalis Becker, 1965 , however, the carapace of the specimens from the Candás Fm is slightly higher than in this species. Beyond this small difference, which could be intraspecific variability, the low number of specimens led to let them in open nomenclature.

Occurrences. Lower and Middle Givetian (Hanonet, Trois-Fontaines, Terres d’Haurs and Mont d’Haurs Fms), Ardenne (Flohimont, Resteigne, Couvin and Mont d’Haurs sections); Middle Givetian (Candás Fm, mbs A and B), Asturias (Peran-Perlora section); Givetian, Eifel.
