Podocopina View in CoL indet. P1

(Pl. III: Fig. 9)

2013 Podocopina indet. P1; Maillet: 134, pl. XVIII, fig. 5.

Material. 2 specimens (2 C).

Description. Medium-sized elongated carapace, oval outline in lateral view, biconvex in dorsal view. Overlap of the larger LV over the RV slight antero-dorsally and more pronounced ventrally with a bow-shaped projection. Hmax at 1/3 anterior; Lmax median; Wmax median. Straight dorsal margin, slightly oblique posteriorly. Straight ventral margin. Ventral and dorsal margins slightly converging posteriorly. Anterior and posterior margins well rounded and regularly convex. Anterior part of the carapace slightly higher than posterior one. Surface smooth.

Discussion. These specimens are assigned to Podocopina because of the bow-shaped projection in ventral view. However, their carapaces are not preserved well enough to allow a more precise identification.

Occurrences. Middle Givetian (Candás Fm, mbs A and C), Asturias (Peran-Perlora section).
