(Pl. I: Fig. 9)

2013 Amphissites sp. P1; Maillet: 56, pl. V, fig. 31.

Material. 1 specimen (1 V).

Description. Medium-sized elongated, amplete and almost equivalve carapace. Slight overlap of the larger LV over the RV along the free margins, more pronounced ventrally. Hmax median; Lmax at 1/3 dorsal; Wmax at midlength and 1/3 dorsal of Hmax. Straight hinge line and dorsal margin. Cardinal angles of about 115°. Well rounded free margins, with anterior and posterior margins more arched than the ventral one. Posterior part of the carapace slightly higher than the anterior one. Shoulder in the postero-dorsal part. Central well rounded node on both valves, at mid-length and 1/3 dorsal of Hmax. Well-developed inner and outer carinas longing the ventral margin. Surface reticulated.

Discussion. The ornamental structures of carapace of this indisputable Amphissites are not sufficiently well preserved to precisely identify the species.

Occurrence. Middle Givetian (Candás Fm, mb A), Asturias (Peran-Perlora section).
