Samarella View in CoL sp. indet.

(Pl. I: Fig. 19)

2013 Samarella sp. indet.; Maillet: 72, pl. VIII, fig. 11.

Material. 2 specimens (2 C).

Description. Medium-sized elongated carapace, oval outline in lateral and dorsal views. Pronounced overlap of the larger RV over the LV ventrally. Hmax slightly anterior; Lmax median; Wmax median. Slightly convex dorsal margin. Dorsal rim of the smallest LV slightly prominent over the dorsal margin. Convex, regularly curved ventral margin. Well-rounded, very arched anterior and posterior margins. Anterior part of the carapace slightly higher than the posterior one. Surface smooth.

Discussion. The general outline of the carapace and overlap of the valves are those of the genus Samarella , the species identification remains difficult because of bad preservation and a low number of specimens.

Occurrence. Middle Givetian (Candás Fm, mb C), Asturias (Peran-Perlora section).
