Holotype ♀, France, Mont Mezenc ( MNHN). Holotype by original designation.
Labels. Mt Mézenc/ 24–8–33 / H. Maneval; Paracyclops / bettyae ♀/ Maneval; holotype; Urocyclops/ depressi-/ ventris (Th.)/ det. Huggert, 1973 [holotype ♀].
Remarks. The holotype is carded, with one antenna on a microslide on the same pin, otherwise it is entire. Maneval says that the ‘6e tergite …, finement costulé longitudinalement’ however the sixth tergite is almost completely flat and polished, the texture mentioned and illustrated by Maneval is caused by internal structure visible through the transparent cuticle of the tergite. Huggert (1974) explains the synonymy of this species.
