Description. Female (n = 100). Body length 10.0– 14.5 mm, polished and covered with punctures and silver setae.

Head 0.55–0.6 × as long as wide. Clypeus 2.5 × as broad as high, sparsely punctate, slightly convex in lateral view. Face 1.8–1.9 × as broad as high, densely punctate, convex medially in lateral view. Malar space 0.4–0.45 × as long as basal mandibular width. POL 1.25–1.6 × as long as OD. OOL 1.0–1.4 × as long as OD. Vertex with long setae, ca. 2.0 × as height as lateral ocellus in lateral view. Antenna with 35–42 flagellomeres. FL I 4.0–4.4 × as long as maximum depth in lateral view and 1.8 × as long as FL II.

Mesosoma densely punctate. Epomia absent. Speculum with a conspicuous smooth area. Mesosternum with long and dense setae, ca. 1.2 × as long as maximum depth of FL I in lateral view. Propodeum with irregular rugae dorsally, posterior transverse carina largely absent except for short, trace-like ridge. Fore wing length 8.0– 10.5 mm. Areolet received vein 2m-cu near center. Nervellus intercepted at middle or slightly anterior to middle ( Fig. 1 B View FIGURE 1 ). Hind femur 6.0–6.4 × as long as maximum depth in lateral view. Ratio of length of hind first to fifth tarsomeres 4.1–4.5: 2.0: 1.4–1.5: 0.85–0.9: 0.9–1.0. Hind second tarsomere 5.0–6.0 × as long as maximum depth in lateral view. Tarsal claws pectinate.

Metasoma. T I 1.8–2.05 × as long as maximum width, densely punctate except for smooth areas on apex and base. T II 1.0–1.25 × as long as maximum width. T II to T V finely punctate, with minute transverse striae. Ovipositor sheath 1.0–1.2 × as long as hind tibia.

Coloration ( Figs 2 B View FIGURE 2 , 8 A, B View FIGURE 8 ). Body (excluding wings and legs) black. Clypeus tinged with reddish brown apically. Teeth tinged reddish brown to yellow. Face usually with a pair or longitudinal yellow stripes along eye. Postero-lateral corner of pronotum and tegula tinged reddish brown. Mesoscutum sometimes with a pair of yellow markings antero-laterally. Each posterior margin of T II to T VI narrowly tinged reddish brown to yellowish brown. Ovipositor reddish brown. Wings hyaline. Veins and pterostigma blackish-brown except for brown wing base. Legs black except for tibiae with white base (white area sometimes indistinct). Tibial spurs sometimes tinged yellowish brown.

Male (n = 71). Similar to female. Clypeus 2.7–2.9 × as broad as high. Malar space 0.25–0.4 × as long as basal mandibular width. POL 1.4–1.7 × as long as OD. Antenna with 43–45 flagellomeres. FL I 1.65–1.75 × as long as FL II. Posterior transverse carina of propodeum complete. Hind femur 5.7–6.1 × as long as maximum depth in lateral view. Ratio of length of hind second and fourth tarsomeres 2.0: 0.9–1.0. Tarsal claws simple.

Coloration ( Fig. 2 C View FIGURE 2 ). Similar to female. Clypeus reddish brown with transverse yellow marking except for dorsal black margin. Face and lower part of frons with a pair of longitudinal yellow stripes along eye. Mandible with large yellow marking. Palpi largely yellow. Dorso-lateral corner of pronotum, tegula and a pair of antero-lateral spots of mesoscutum yellow. Fore coxa and fore and mid trochanters usually with yellow areas. Tibial spurs yellowish white. Apices of fore and mid tibiae tinged whitish yellow. Basal white areas of tibiae larger than female. Hind second to fourth tarsal segments usually white.

Distribution. Japan (Honshu, Izuoshima Is., Sado Is., Shikoku, Kyushu and Yakushima Is.). Outside Japan, this species has been recorded from Russia, Poland, China and Korea ( Yu et al. 2016; Kang et al. 2020).

Bionomics. Host unknown. Adults were collected in March to June in Japan.

Remarks. This is the first record of this species from Yakushima Is. The description of A. longipetiolaris in the key of Kasparyan (2007) may be not this species and is probably a misidentification. The body coloration of this species has a relatively larger intraspecific variation than other species.
