( Figs. 30–33 View FIGURES 30–33 )

Guithera (Proguithera) drescheri Wygodzinsky, 1966: 127 View in CoL , 130. Holotype (♀): Indonesia, West Java, Tangkuban Perahu , RMNH.

Proguithera drescheri: Dispons (1970: 220) View in CoL (generic placement); Rédei (2004: 314) (in key), Ishikawa & Naka (2016: 192) (in key).

Guithera (Proguithera) drescheri: Maldonado-Capriles (1990: 102) View in CoL (catalogue, distribution).

Diagnosis. Recognized within the genus by the following combination of characters: pronotum along midline 0.9 times as long as its width across humeral angles, with deep median longitudinal sulcus ( Fig. 31 View FIGURES 30–33 ); anteroventral series of fore femur composed of not more than 20 spine-like setae; fore wing with cross vein between M + Cu and submarginal vein basad of discal cell well developed, slightly oblique, inserted some distance from basal angle of discal cell ( Fig. 33 View FIGURES 30–33 , white arrow); Rs vein clear; discal cell stout, shorter than M extending from its apex ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 30–33 ).

Type material examined. Holotype (♀): INDONESIA, West Java, Tangkuban Perahu , S6°45′47″, E107°35′58″, 4000–5000 ft, Mar. 1937, F.C. Drescher leg. ( RMNH). GoogleMaps

Distribution. INDONESIA: West Java.

Remarks. This species can be easily recognized by the structure of the pronotum, armature on the fore femur, and fore wing venation. Its type locality was recorded as ‘G. Tangkoeban Prahoe, 4000–5000 Voet, Preanger, Java’ on the data label of the holotype, and ‘ Java: Dreangar, Tangkoeban Prahoe’ in the original description. The locality is the Tangkuban Perahu volcano in West Java, Indonesia. The handwritten “P” on the data label looks like “D”, which probably caused Wygodzinsky (1966) to write “Preanger” instead of “Dreanger”. The male of this species remains unknown.
