Oxypetalum aureum Chodat View in CoL in Chodat & Grintzesco (1899: 80). Type:— Paraguay, “ad ripam fluminis Juqueri.” Hassler 1381 (holotype G!).

Distribution: — BOLIVIA: Beni, Santa Cruz. Mostly in degraded dry forest; 200–900 m elev. Also known from Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina and Peru.

Representative specimens examined: — BOLIVIA. Beni: Ballivian, S of Rurrenabaque, 350 m elev., 15°33’S, 67°33’W, 18 August 2000 (fl), T.B. Croat et al. 84611 (K, MO). Santa Cruz: Velasco, Reserva Forestal Bajo Paraguá, 200 m elev., 14°31’37” S, 61°30’13”W, 11 May 1994 (fl), T. Killeen & J. Welleens 6283 (K, MO, USZ).
