Taraxacum rhaeticum van Soest (1959: 134) View in CoL
Type:— L, no. det. 19665, holotype (herb. van Soest 19285) !
Doll (1978: 642):—“Diese Klein-Art fanden wir bei der Malowitza-Hütte.“
Herbarium voucher specimen:—There is a single herbarium specimen from Bulgaria, labelled: Flora von Bulgarien, Rila-Gebirge, Malowitza-Hütte. 16 Jul [19]76, R. Doll [as Taraxacum rhaeticum ] ( JE, no. det. 19045). There are two leaf rosettes (originally probably parts of a single plant), with relatively well preserved characters (pollen irregular, stigmas dark discoloured).
Interpretation:—The material differs considerably from the Alpine T. rhaeticum , a species without pollen and with yellow stigmas. The Bulgarian plants are very close to what is described as T. pandum of T. sect. Rhodocarpa (= T. sect. Alpestria) below.
