Pselaphomorphus fluminosus Vásquez-Vélez View in CoL n. sp.

( Fig. 13 View FIGURE 13 )

Diagnosis. Pselaphomorphus fluminosus is characterized by the combination of presence of antennal clava with square antennomeres and small body size (less than 2.0 mm). It can be differentiated from P. breviantennae by the division of the median lobe located medially and the presence of accessory lobes.

Description. Male. Body length 1.7 mm. Body flattened dorsally, reddish with yellow pilosity. Head triangular (length 0.4 mm, width 0.4 mm), base of antennal tubercle shorter than diameter of eye. Longitudinal sulcus wider between eyes, spindle-shaped. Eyes kidney-shaped (diameter 0.15 mm). Antennal length 0.7 mm. Antennomere length as follows: 1 (0.06 mm), 2 (0.05 mm), 3 to 5 (0.04 mm), 6 (0.02 mm), 7 (0.06 mm), 8 (0.04 mm), 9 and 10 (0.06 mm), and 11 (0.16 mm), clava conspicuous. Maxillary palpi yellowish with short, clear and even pilosity. Pronotum transverse (length 0.35 mm, width 0.4 mm). Lateral lobes trapezoidal, basally squared and apically rounded. Antebasal lobe rectangular. Pronotal disc oval. Elytra length 0.45 mm, width 0.7 mm. Humeral teeth absent and humeral elevation present. Sutural fovea rounded, followed by sutural stria. Basal discal fovea rounded, discal depression present. Abdominal segments I–V dorsally with length as follows: 0.35, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1 (mm). Genitalia. Phallobase irregular, globose and asymmetric. Median lobe divided apically, as short as accessory lobes. Accessory lobes surround median lobe from right to left, one dorsally and other ventrally ( Figs. 13 View FIGURE 13 B, 13C).

Type material. Holotype (male): “ Venezuela, Delta Amacuro 11 km W Piacoa. 11 to 31-VII-87. Seasonal humid forest on sand, malaise, flight intercept trap. S. & J. Peck” ( MHNG). Paratypes (2): Venezuela: 1 male, Sucre, Cariaco, 27-VII-87, 3 m. Gallery forest soil washing. S. & J. Peck; 1 male, Monagas, 15 km N Maturin 19 to 31-VII-87. Floodplain forest flight intercept trap malaise. S. & J. Peck ( MHNG).

Etymology. The species name makes reference to the collection site of the holotype and paratypes, from the Latin flumen meaning ‘river’.
