Diagnosis. Pselaphomorphus simplicipenis is characterized by the combination of small body size (less than 2.0 mm), pronotal disc oval, and the aedeagus with base regular, narrow and symmetrical, with the median lobe flattened and the accessory lobe cylindrical.

Description. Male. Body length 1.9 mm. Body flattened dorsally, reddish with yellow pilosity. Head triangular (length 0.5 mm, width 0.4 mm), base of the antennal tubercle shorter than diameter of eye. Longitudinal sulcus wider between eyes, spindle-shaped. Eyes kidney-shaped (diameter 0.15 mm). Antennal length 1.2 mm. Antennomere length as follows: 1 (0.08 mm), 2 (0.06 mm), 3 to 5 (0.08 mm), 6 (0.06 mm), 7 to 10 (0.1 mm), and 11 (0.2 mm), clava inconspicuous. Maxillary palpi yellowish with short, clear and even pilosity. Pronotum transverse (length 0.35 mm, width 0.45 mm). Lateral lobes rectangular, basal angle acute and apical angle square. Antebasal lobe rectangular, laterally with small triangular projections. Pronotal disc oval. Elytra length 0.6 mm, width 0.75 mm. Humeral teeth and humeral elevation present. Sutural fovea transversely elongate, sutural stria semioval. Basal discal fovea rounded. Abdominal segments I–V dorsally with length as follows: 0.35, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1, 0.1 (mm). Genitalia. Phallobase regular, apically symmetrical, bearing two small arms. Median lobe complete, laminate, apically narrow. Accessory lobe cylindrical and half shorter than median lobe ( Figs. 30 View FIGURE 30 B, 30C).

Type material. Holotype (male): “ French Guiana, Cayenne. VII-79. N. Degallier” ( MHNG). Paratypes (2): French Guiana: 1 male, same information as holotype ( MHNG); 1 male, “Cotas” RN 1. VI-78. N. Degallier ( MHNG).

Etymology. Noun in apposition. The name simplicipenis refers to the simple and undecorated shape of the aedeagus.
