Range: —Endemic to Bolivia (LP), known only from the type collection.

Ecology: —Rare, but probably overlooked; saxicolous in humid forests; 2950 m.

Notes: —Differs from somewhat larger Selaginella angustifolia by its broader sporophylls, median leaves with short, but well-defined (vs. gradually reduced, ill-defined) apices, and slightly broader lateral leaves with green to weakly hyaline (vs. strongly hyaline) acroscopic margins. Also similar to S. cavifolia .
