T y p e m a t e r i a l: Holotype: ♁. Type locality: Colombia, Nouvelle Grenade, Etat Cundinamarca, Cananche, M. de Mathan, 1 Sem. 1900 ( MNHN) . Paratypes: 4 specimens. COLOMBIA: Departmento de Cundinamarca ; Nouvelle Grenade, Cananche, M. de Mathan, 1 Sem. 1900 ( MNHN, 2; WOPC, 2) .
D i a g n o s i s: Cranium highly setose; pronotum black, highly setose, with minute blister; elytra basal 1/3 red, middle 1/3 with yellow macula, posterior 1/3 black, with patch of white setae.
D e s c r i p t i o n: Size: Length 10.0 mm; width 2.0 mm. Form: As in Fig. 24 View Figs 21-24 . Head: Capitulum slightly acuminate; (EW/FW 33/100). Thorax: Elytral disc partially roughly punctate, (PL/PW 180/180); (EL/EW 420/120). Abdomen: Aedeagus ( Fig. 81 View Figs 74-82 ).
E t y m o l o g y: The species name, grenade, constitutes a noun in apposition and refers to the type locality.
