T y p e m a t e r i a l: Holotype: ♀. Type locality: Colombia, Cauca, PNN Gorgona, El Saman , 2°58'N 78°11'W, 5 m, Malaise, 11.XII.2001- 18-I-2002, H. Torres, Leg. M. 2791 ( WOPC) GoogleMaps . Paratypes: 2 specimens. COLOMBIA: Departamento de Cauca ; Isla Gorgona , 30 m, Malaise, 22- III-13-IV-2001, R. Duque ( JMLC, 2)
D i a g n o s i s: Integument mostly black; cranium and pronotum densely setose; elytron with oval blister and with three maculae, posterior macula angular, elytral posterior 1/3. highly setose.
D e s c r i p t i o n: Size: Length 6.0 mm; width 1.0 mm. Form: As in Fig. 23 View Figs 21-24 . Head: Antenna slightly shorter than width across eyes. capitulum slightly compacted; (EW/FW 20/60). Thorax: Pronotal and elytral discs finely punctate; (PL/PW 90/90); (EL/EW 220/55). Abdomen: Aedeagus ( Fig. 80 View Figs 74-82 ).
E t y m o l o g y: The species name, gorgona, constitutes a noun in apposition and refers to the type locality.
