H.Nick ( WOPC, 1) ; idem,?-XI-?, B. Poln ( WFBM, 1) ; São Paulo; Estación Biologica Boraceia, Salesópolis , 14-18-XI-1973, Exp. Mus. Zool. D i a g n o s i s: Mostly black. Pronotal arch, elytral anterior 1/3, and elytral apex highly setose, elytral middle with broad testaceous fascia.

D e s c r i p t i o n: Size: Length 7.0 mm; width 1.5 mm. Form: As in Fig. 39 . Head: (EW/FW 20/60). Thorax: Pronotal and elytral discs finely punctate; (PL/PW 120/120); (EL/EW 240/70). Abdomen: Aedeagus lost.

V a r i a t i o n: Length 5.0-7.0 mm; width 1.0- 1.2 mm.

E t y m o l o g y: The species name, monteverde, constitutes a noun in apposition and refers to the type locality.
