T y p e m a t e r i a l: Holotype: ♁. Type locality: Colombia, Amazonas , PNN Amacayacu, Matamata, 150 m, MT, M 78, 3°41'S 70°15'W, 27-III-3-IV-2000, A. Parente ( WOPC, 1).

D i a g n o s i s: Black, except elytra with pair of yellow fascia that traverse elytral margins.

D e s c r i p t i o n: Size: Length 6.0 mm; width 1.2 mm. Form: As in Fig. 34 . Head: (EW/FW 20/55). Thorax: Elytral disc finely punctate, (PL/PW 110/110); (EL/EW 260/70). Abdomen: Aedeagus ( Fig. 89 ).

E t y m o l o g y: The species name, luridus, is a Latin adjective with a meaning of "yellow".
