T y p e m a t e r i a l: Holotype: ♀. Type locality: Brazil , Rondonia, 62 km SE Ariquemes, 22-31 Oct.1997, W. J. Hanson ( WOPC) . Paratypes: 5 specimens. BRAZIL: Estado do Rondonia ; 62 km SE Ariquemes , 22-31 Oct.1997, W. J. Hanson ( WOPC, 1) ; idem, 7-18-XI-1995, W. J. Hanson ( EMUS, 1) ; idem, Fazenda Rancho Grande , 4-16-XI-1997, J. E. Eger ( FSCA, 1) ; idem, 1-17-XI-1997, B. K. Dozier ( FSCA, 1) ; Estado do Amazonas; Teffé ( Ega ), M. de Mathan, 2 E Trimestre, 1879 ( MNHN, 1) .

D i a g n o s i s: Mostly black; cranium and pronotal arch red; each elytron 4 with yellow maculae, anterior two fasciae proximal.

D e s c r i p t i o n: Size: Length 6.0 mm; width 1.2 mm. Form: As in Fig. 53 View Figs 53-56 . Head: Capitulum quadrate; (EW/FW 20/70). Thorax: Elytral disc finely punctate; (PL/PW 95/95); (EL/EW 240/70). Abdomen: Aedeagus ( Fig. 104 View Figs 101-110 ).

E t y m o l o g y: The species name, rondonia, constitutes a noun in apposition and refers to thetype locality.
